I write fantasy for adults and young adults. I also maintain this blog, and another website related to my sailing interests.

How can I get review copies of your books?
Please see the Review Copies page for instructions.
Since my writing is aimed at young adults, I ask that you keep things relatively "clean" and be polite.
I reserve the right to delete comments I consider offensive or inappropriate at my discretion. My site, my rules.
Why didn't my comment show up?
You probably put in too many links - comments with too many links go straight to the spam filter.
I delete all comments trapped by the filter sight unseen. I simply don't have the bandwidth to read through to find false positives.
Do you review any of the books in your reading log?
Yes and no. Taste in books is extremely personal. I used to provide ratings (and have left them in those old posts), but it didn't feel quite right. Just because a book didn't resonate with me, doesn't mean someone else won't enjoy it. In fact, there are many classics that I simply don't "get", but far be it from me to discourage anyone from reading them. Sometimes I'll put in a quote from the book that struck me for some reason or other. Occasionally, if a book really resonates with me, I'll say so, because I prefer the encouragement side of the spectrum to the critical side of the spectrum. And I use the term "resonate" for a reason. If I liked a book, it's because it set off a perfect tone on the tuning fork that is my personal taste. And that is the only thing to take away from my preferences. Not that a book was bad or good. Just that it resonated with me.
I don't auto-follow. I only tend to check for new followers once every week or two, so if I haven't followed you back yet, that may be why. I tend to follow real people, especially fellow writers, and will block for spam most corporate feeds that follow me, and people who seem to be solely SEO or marketing "experts". If your twitter feed is nothing but ads, reviews of your book, and links to buy your book/other item for sale, I probably won't follow you. If I follow you and you take advantage of that to DM me asking me to help you promote something, or vote for you in some contest, without having taken the time to first establish a relationship or have any type of real conversation with me, I WILL unfollow you. I rarely participate in things like #WriterWednesday or #FollowFriday, but every now and then I say thank you because I do appreciate them.
