... for your social skills.

I doubt my mother would have agreed if you'd asked her right after I'd ignored the increasingly loud requests to come join the family for dinner.

But the study seems to mesh with some of the theory in Lisa Zunshine's Why We Read Fiction. Cognitive literary theory gets some validation.

My question is: is writing good for one's social skills? If I happen to get into the zone and the writing is flowing, I often can't string together a coherent sentence afterwards, my brain's so off in neverland. Just ask my husband.
