Gardom Pond

I just started David Mitchell's The Bone Clocks. I'm not very far into it at all, so have no opinion on the story yet, but I noticed that there's a clock on the header of each page. The clock starts at midnight. Or noon. Or vertical, whatever you prefer. It rotates through the hours on each turn of the page.

I don't normally do this, but I skipped to the end. Not to read the last sentence. Nope. Learned my lesson there long ago. But I wanted to see if the clock ended at midnight on the last page.

And it does.

Small loving details in book design.
