New Words

April 10, 2007

What do the words you don't know say about you?

I learned a new word the other day. It's rare that while reading fiction I come across a word that I can't recall ever seeing before. While I often stumble over words whose meaning I can't quite remember, finding a truly "new-to-me" word is uncommon.

The word was "cernuous". Meaning, "nodding or drooping". Like a flower. Or willows.

Nice.
