The other day, I took the float plane to Pender Island. I don't do it that often, because it's a bit pricey, and hard to take pets along, but this time, I was furry friend-free, couldn't get off work in time to make the ferry, and hey, it was my anniversary, so I really felt like having dinner with my husband.
Riding in a float plane is a bit of a rite of passage around these parts. There are plenty of place on the coast that are only accessible by boat, or by these little workhorses of the sky. My cottage doesn't suffer from the same inaccessibility problems, but for sheer convenience and speed, it's hard to beat the Beaver.
The weather was perfect, and as a bonus, I got to ride in the co-pilot seat.
